Generally mild in flavor, this variety has a full-bodied flavor that is irresistible and unmistakable. This variety is most widely used in the decorative chile ristras (clusters of dried chilies tied into a long strand or wreath-like configuration) found throughout the southwest. Delicious when hydrated and used in traditional, or perhaps not-so-traditional sauces, that call for “that” unmistakable flavor of the real southwest.

Reconstitute in water for 10 minutes.  Then dice or puree, and add to salsas, sauces, stews or soups.
