Available mid fall thru early winter, the Arkansas Black apple is versitle and delicious. When first picked the texture actually tends to be too firm and it’s flavor too tart. As they are stored both mellow out and become better in both respects. Great for all things apple, baking, ciders, soups and roasting, Arkansas Blacks pair well with all the typical fall flavors: cinnamon, thyme, sage, cranberries and vanilla. Often available in Organic.
