Huckleberries are deep purplish-black berries, similar in appearance to a blueberry but are almost never available to us fresh. They have a wild blueberry flavor w/ tart and musky hints.  Serve raw, or bake or simmer for recipes.  Use in pastries, syrups, sauces, liqueurs, wines, teas, jams, bread puddings.  Huckleberries are a wild relative of the blueberry.  They pair well with salmon, game and chocolate.  Also available frozen, year-round.
