Also known as Chinese Apples, Asian Pears are available in a wide array of sizes, from baseball to larger than softball sizes, with outer skins ranging from smooth to rough, yellow to brown, but all are generally delicious. Known for their crisp texture and very juicy flesh, Asian pears are best enjoyed fresh with other fruits, or they work well with cheese, meat, and dessert trays as well. They can be poached or sautéed, but remember they are much juicier than are conventional apples.
